Acoustic meets thermal with Sound Shield
Designed as cavity wall insulation for new and existing homes, Sound Shield creates a comfortable, quieter home. Manufactured from Rockwool, the density of the volcanic fibres make it a superior acoustic insulator compared to Cavity Shield. The Rockwool cavity wall insulation is installed directly into the wall by drilling into the brickwork or plasterboard. This makes the granulated fibres perfect for double brick, brick veneer and weatherboard homes.

This double brick construction unit was located in the heart of Mount Hawthorn. Being on the end of a block of 5 units, this homeowner had two major issues with the performance of her home;
1. Noise travelled from the neighbour’s adjoining unit too easily and;
2. The unit was extremely hot in the afternoons, especially the westerly facing wall.
